She continues to say that her illness persisted and she plans to journey to the Eastern Cape with her father. She recalls not comprehending, but realizing that whenever she was sick, her father would summon her to stand by the kraal and speak, even though she couldn't understand him, and she would recover. Jakeni describes how this tradition started when she was young, although she didn't really take notice of it. Whenever she stopped returning home, she would become ill, but things shifted as she began insisting on going home herself since she knew she would recover there. She stressed the significance of having a kraal, stating that every household, no matter how impoverished, should possess one, whether or not they have livestock. Jakeni kept on explaining that his father's habit of talking in the kraal was no longer beneficial, and she was nearing the end of her final exams. Due to her ongoing illness, her elderly uncle, who she affectionately refers to as Tam'khulu, summoned her and her father to return to their ancestral home in order to wear a traditional necklace to alleviate the illness. After securing a permanent position, she told her mother about her boyfriend and expressed her desire to start a family. She describes how her parents were very worried, and her aunt arrived and scolded her parents for not arranging the umhlonyane ceremony for her. It was definitely true for Jakeni as she started menstruating on the third day.\r\n\r\nJakeni continues by stating that after a year of steady employment, she became pregnant at 23; however, she experienced complications and was advised by doctors to end the pregnancy, which she declined. She clarifies that the only moment she prayed was while expecting her son, asking for him specifically, “grant me this child, and give me a son”. She gave birth to a premature baby through her faith, and her father was crucial in caring for the baby while she remained at her father's house in Magabheni. Jakeni recalls the event from 10 May 2009 when her child was surrounded by bees. Unsure of what to do, she contacted her father who promptly arrived, recited praise names, and requested permission to take the child away in order for the visiting ancestors to depart. In her opinion, this specific event and numerous others demonstrated the significance and influence of the ancestors.
